This is pretty simple, so I'm guessing it'* common knowledge. But if it'* not, you can thank me later.

Well, I got into a nice car accident. Someone was in my blind spot when I changed lanes, so I changed lanes into some girl and her cute friend. (I forgot to ask for their phone numbers.) The damage was minor, so we didn't get the police or our insurance companies involved; we just drove off.

But I was left with my driver'* side rear door partially caved in. I decided to try something to get the door back to its normal shape without paying big bucks to have some professional do it. Here'* what I did.

1. Get a plunger and something that can form a seal. I used car soap. I think glue would work best provided it won't damage your paint or stick the plunger to your car.
2. Pour the soap on the door.
3. Stick the plunger to the door. Try sticking it in the center of the dent, but if it doesn't work, try the edges; trial and error works best. Wherever you stick it, make sure it'* stuck all the way around.
4. Pull. Don't try to pull the plunger off, but try to pull it as far back as you can.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 as necessary.
6. Wash the car, since I'm pretty sure you forgot to wash the plunger beforehand... eewww...

That'* right. What body shops charge big money for, I fixed with a plunger. Now, if the ding is smaller than the diameter of the plunger, you won't be able to use this technique. For those, you may want to pick up the Ding King (from which I got this whole plunger idea).

It took me about ten minutes to fix my door. Now all I've got is a tiny ding that'* hardly noticeable, and a good-sized scratch or two. But that'* nothing some paint can't fix.
