Default is it the car OR IS IT ME?

why does everything i think will take a half hour end up turning into a day long process?

i figure ill go debadge the ssei badges on my 01... so the dental floss works fine and im left with this 2mm thick adhesive thats tougher than ****** god himself. i spray on goof off( dont flame me i dont care what i use as long as other users have used it and it worked), that didnt work, just amde it wet. okay so i try WD40. nope, still stuck on. well ****, so i grab a hair dryer and sit there for 10 minutes until the hair dryer shorts out from taking in too much heat, great huh? so i look around the garage for any **** to put on it, i find bug and tar remover still doesnt work. i go inside and grab some craft sticks to try to force it off, well that getsm e a little farther but what the ****? why is everything for me take 3 hours?

Well personally, I use a modified flex putty knife modified with rounded corners for just such purpose. It takes the adhesive layer with the badge leaving just a little bit for the lighter fluid to clean up before polishing...but that' just me...

I prefer 3M adhesive remover...especially since GM uses a lot of 3M adhesives.

Plus, by using the dental floss method, a lot of what your have left is not really adhesive, but the foam (or whatever it is) backing. That will not dissolve with normal adhesive remover.

Yeah, there was a lot of **** there. The job is done. Unfortunately, the driver side badge left a mark. I don't know how but right when I started working the dental floss in, lumps and lumps of dried dust kept falling out from behind it. When I finally pulled it off, it looked like the adhesive was actually made of dust so you can sort of see one of the *'* and and the e. I polished it and waxed it twice to help out. Maybe I'll go get some Meguiar'* Scratch X when the weather is nice.
