I think a semi-transparent that'* just a shade or two off the OEM color would look cool. Coming off the front tires and going down both doors? I was considering a very subtle racing flag checker pattern the same way at one time.
There are vendors on ebay and the net that sell these in vinyl transfer format.

I was looking at these on Ebay,for the lower half of door,from the front wheels back.
I think you can order what size you need ! He sent me pic'* of what they look like on black, Looks grey, no shine though !

somethign like the falmes on that camaro would be pretty cool. its alot more subtle than the ones posted.

Could be cool, could be not. I personally wouldn't do something like this through e-bay, though. If the color of the photo is just a touch off, you could end up in the "not" category.
But, ghost flames could definitely work!!

I was messing around with Paint shop pro 8 and came up with these pic'* !
Was the best I could come up with !
Most likely would lose small flames behind SSEi emblem.
