I'm quite certain its illegal. I don't know of any states that allow foward facing red or blue (not angel eye blue) lights, unless you're a police officer, rescue or funeral escort.

Yes they are most likely illegal, I have been pulled over for my angel eye fogs being red, I have underlights that are red and match perfectly and those are fine as long as the tubes are not showing, but when I was pulled over I was lectured how you can only have white and amber lights in the front and you can have red, amber and white in the back.

I'd say those pictured are most likely legal. Yes, if those are STOCK, as installed by the manufacturer, then they are legal. If a dealer modifies ("dealer installed") the car with DOT approved off the shelf parts for a car, they too are legal. If you or anybody else does the same thing...illegal. You can take his OEM devil eyes and put them on your car, illegal. It'* gotta be OEM to that particular vehicle, year/make/model or it won't fly.

i'm waiting for my angel eye fogs to ship, and I can't wait to see how they look. Just have to steer clear of Barney Fife and hope if I run across an officer of the law, it'* Andy Taylor instead.

I would guess those lights fall under a gray area(non OEM), it would be an officers interpretation of the law as to whether they are legitimate. However, you can only have white or amber forward facing lights, any other color will most likely get you a misdemeanor ticket.
Tell your bro to play it smart and keep them off when driving.

That realy sucks cause I want a pair, but I already get herassed by two seperate cities (Detroit and Melvindale). These are out the question til I find time and a way to wire them to a hidden switch.

He'* a cop so he doesn't have to worry about getting a ticket. Thanks for all the feedback, I will have to go with angel eyes instead

I wouldn't think you would have to worry about it either. I guess it all depends on where he is in the food chain...

In our area I think it is legal, but not while driving.

I solved my Angel Eye problem:

Legality was not the reason though, I wanted the Amber...

So you're the guy who gets pulled over for a burnt out tail light and ends up getting taisored and thrown in jail for resisting a police officer.
