Default decided to buy rims off craigslist... bad idea...

So i bought a set of 4 17 inch, 5 lug rims plus 4 brand new tires for 350$... Turns out they dont fit my car, and now i have to sell them. Any idea how i should go about buying rims next time? Its my first car and no one in my family knows anything about cars, so you guys are my only hope haha.

Bonneville'* have 5x115 lug pattern. If buying new rims make sure they are that lug pattern.

You need to know the bolt pattern. Ask before you buy. 5x115 with a high positive offset, or a FWD wheel.

What year is your car? I've never had to much trouble changing the bulbs. There is a write up in tech info under electrical.
