Default daytime driving lights vs. headlights

sorry, didnt know where else to post..

i recently purchased some of those silverstars that say "THE LOOK OF HID". well yeah i was disappointed when it was just a plain white color, although i noticed a ltitle difference, it was actually nice.

my main question tho... when im sittin in parkin lots facing the glass windows and my drl are on, its more of the old yellow color (the same color the fogs are), but wen i turn on my headlights by using the switcher thingy, its more of the nice white color... so im trying to figure out how that happens..?

i bought the lights for both hi and low beams so i dunno what could be wrong

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking, but I think I know so I'll give it a shot...

The DRL'* use the low beam lamps but they don't run at full power. Because you are only running at about 80% they will have a more yellow, less intense appearance. This sounds like normal operation to me.

your drl'* are the high beam bulbs, but they are not at full power, otherwise you'd be pissing off a lot of motorists coming the other direction. As stated above, they are full power when u have your highbeams on, not just the drl'*

Sorry, it'* the GXP that uses the low beam bulbs for the DRL'*. Had a bit of a mind lapse since I traded in the SE.

as stated above, they will have a less intense look about them (DRL) I wondered the same when I purchased my 8500k bubls for the DRL (HI beam) they burn a low bluish/purple/white color undershadowing the foglamps brightness if they're on. They really show hid quality from FAR AWAY depending on the time of the day they show up more brilliant than other parts of the day (Dusk & Dawn to be exact)

if you truly don't want any "yellow" in your hi beam location just upgrade to 6500k or better
