its also been suggested to buy the Silverstar Amber bulbs. they turn silver when off and amber when on.

That tech info article pretty much sums things up well, not much input but that you dont have to remove the whole lens; you can get it about halfway off and pull the amber out with a pair of pliers.

Its really easy, don't let it intimidate you.

I can do a set of 2 headlights in about 15min with nothing but a Leatherman Tool
