i really need to do this after i got done cleaning the motor i still wasnt satisfyed with the results. does anybody know how to do this and what to use. i know there was a thread on this a while back but im not sure if it was lost with the crash. pics would be nice too
h1081dan painted his valve covers black and then clear coated them along with his upper intake (and other things I think).
They sell engine enamel in any auto store, from 500-1500* rated. Just find the Clear Engine paint and have fun. Just make sure you mask off anything you don't want the paint on or in.

Regular enamel would even work for majority of the parts in the engine bay. I think anything after 500 degrees or so is when you would have to use high temp paint.
