Decided to work on my swoops today. Got two done before the wind really picked up and it started to sprinkle. I used Turtle Wax Rim Clean to start, then applied Mothers Chrome Polish and buffed out as instructed. What else should I do to them? I picked up a can of Liquid Glass, is that something that will work to protect the chrome for a while? Here'* some pics...

Looking good! Yes a sealant or wax will help. But really chrome is pretty easy to maintain in the spring/summer/fall months as long as you do a fairly regular wash.

From the pics I don't notice much a of a difference before/after the chrome polish. How does it look in person? Think you could skip that step next time?

Up close it did clean up alot of smaller spots that I had to rub the polish into it a little longer. I should have taken some closer in shots. I'll get some better pics when i do the drivers side.

Still looks like there is some type of water spots on the inside of the swoop spokes. Or it might be a reflection from the inside of the rim. I am not that familiar with swoopies.

The Mothers is a nice product and I use it myself for all sorts of metal polishing.


BTW super job on the clean up and yes the LG will work well to seal up the rims and help protect the shine.

You may want to try a claybar to see if it will remove the frosted dimple spots. Try it on a small spot first.

The chrome polish got rid of all the frosted spots. Now there is just small particles here and there that may make me have to learn how to use clay. My first attempt failed miserably and the clay stuck to the paint.

Clay is easy. Lube and glide.

Just so people know, Mothers Chrome polish is different than the traditional Mother'* aluminum polish. The Chrome polish is non-abrasive whereas the aluminum polish is abrasive.

BTW, I love that chrome polish. Easy on, easy off, and cleans perfectly. Also great on glass.
