I want a new antenna!
I'm not sure what the antenna on the back window of my 01 SSEi does...but I believe it is OnStar. The GXP (and looong) has, what I believe, is a newer version of the OnStar antenna? How would I go about getting one?

Antennas are specific to technology. The antenna you have on your window is for analog OnStar. The '05 GXP has dual mode technology and in essence (without getting too technical) works primarily in a different frequency range. The '02 - '04 Bonnevilles also use analog, but if the OnStar is upgraded (only the '03 & '04 are eligible), the antenna is also replaced (albeit another similar looking glass mount antenna). Antennas are tuned to specific frequency ranges. It may not be worth your time or money as you won't be able to use OnStar services after December 31st anyway. You may want to consider just removing it if this is a cosmetic issue.

I just had my 04 upgraded to digital and the box was replaced along with the antenna. A painless process but it took 2 trips to the dealer.
One other note, you will lose all of your CALL numbers that are stored in memory.

I'll take another in the morning once there is a little light. This will give you an idea though. Only a very subtle difference
