Default Cleaner wax

What are people'* thoughts on wax with a cleaner in it? I have a bottle of Mothers I was going to use. My paint isn't the best and there'* some clouding I'd like to get rid of. I was thinking of using a cleaner wax then following it up with a coat of Liquid Glass.

I dont think its a wax that cleans as you describe but it is a cleaner that cleans wax.
Your paint is cloudy? Could this be swirls and spider cracks?
If that were my black car I would do a complete detail including clay bar, swirl remover, polish then wax.

is the cloudiness oxidation? Maybe you could post a few pics.

I agreee with doing a whole surface treatment inlcuding claying it ( and use a real bar not the "liquid claybar"). After claying it try a good rubbing comound like the one made by 3M, you can find it at Walmart by the touch up paints in the automotive section, works awesome.

Personally I love cleaner waxes.
example:

While they don't last all that long they do work nicely when used for the right stuff. Mr. toasty can speak on the scratches I removed with that stuff....so can my dad.

From your desciription I would suggest a good wash, then a clay bar for the whole car, follow that with a polish. Then wax it.

If that doesn't get it out then either you will be looking at a lot of hand buffing or should consider having the car professionally buffed (assuming you dont have a power buffer)

Thanks all. You're probably right. The car is crying out for a waxing of any kind. I've got a fair number of "usage" scratches here and there, no spider cracks yet. I'll play with it this week and see what happens. I saw 95SLE and 1993SLE doing a clay bar treatment at NEBF last week. I'll have to give it a try.

Do you use water or a solution with the clay?

Karl:
Just use water with about 10 drops of dish washing soap in a spray bottle. It will work just fine. It is better to have too much water than not enough.
