Default Claying and Scratch X

I think this might be a dumb question but here goes. After washing the car do you use a clay bar before or after a scratch and swirl remover? I used the name Scratch X only because it was the first one that came to mind but I know there are lots of those products on the market. :?:

Clay bar for above surface contaminants, scratch-x for below surface.
Wash
Clay
Wash
scratch-x
polish or go straight to wax
