I've read about the bubbling hood paint issue on 00+ Bonnies...
Is this only certain colors?
Are all GM'* (or even just H-bodies) susceptible?
(I.e., might it happen to the wife'* 2004 Silver LeSabre?)
Anyone know what causes it, and/or how to prevent it?
Anyone got pics of a bubbling hood, so I know what to look out for?
Thanks.

Just like the above, it looks just like it is rusting underneath the paint. Mine had about a one inch wide spot along the hem of the hood in the middle. It'* due to GM not using a proper primer to adhere to the Aluminum hood so it may pop loose in spots. I don't know what the correlation is though with it starting in the front, but based on other'* I've seen, the common spot for it to start is in the middle along the hem like mine and then travels up over to the top surface of the hood and across. It'* about $500 to get it repainted properly.

So the hood is made of aluminum, and a poor factory primer job is the cause...
(I can't believe GM would make the hood aluminum instead of steel...¿cuesta mucho mas, no?)
I'll have to whip out a magnet when I get home tonight to see if the 2004 LeSabre has an aluminum hood...

well more than that, it balances out the car better, takes less weight off the front and add just a tad in the rear with the battery and contributes to a much better F/R WR. Doesn't justify screwing up the prep job.
