Battery Tray
so i was battleing a weak battery (i didnt know it) till the car wouldnt start.....well turns out that the battery was leaking
......mind you i didnt know this...and this is my 6th battery in less than 4 years....thank god for the warrenty...LMAO
so i pull the battery out and OMFG what the hell is that

r r r r r ust.....(insert many cus words) the acid from the battery ate thru the paint and fkud the tray
so i got out the baking soda to absorb the acid that was in the metal and then cleaned it off
Step one:

after it the baking soda was all off and the tray was clean and dry it was time to bring in the big guns...
Step Two. get rust inhibitor spray paint to stop the spread of the rust, and kill anymore that is there or left.

so most "normal people would be done at this point buuuuuutttt not me
Step three. time for the rubberized undercoating. this also stops rust and should be a good barrier if anymore of there damn batteries leak.

and the final step is paint it all white so noone who looks in the engine bay knows the wiser.....ya i dont have pics of it painted white...i needed to throw the battery and go somewhere.....so you dont get pics
i showed that damn rust whos boss....how it dare form on my car
so i pull the battery out and OMFG what the hell is that

Sweet! I am wondering why 6 batteries in 4 years, even I have better luck than that and Murphy is my constant co-pilot.
Is the tray welded/formed into the fender or does it unbolt like older ones?

and Bill....i used good crap.... its from the gas company......they use it on Gas meters to keep the rust off and keep it from spreading.....
If your load was that bad, you'd be killing your alt too. I'd try to measure exactly how much you're pulling off of it. Your amp sholdn't be hurting it much, but i have NFC what neons do.
Maybe a deep cycle?

hah, never thought I would see the day when Pat'* car had rust, and then I did, AND YOU HAD TO RUIN IT FOR ME!!!!
You killed the rust pat...poor oxydized steel...it needs a home TOO!! Thats why I own a rust habitat. I call it an 89 LE
STOP THE RUST OPRESSION!!! either that, or eliminate rust altogether and I will be just as happy
nice job on that fix there, looks like a completely overdone, totally unnessicary rust fix, but hey, thats the Pat way right?
