Default Anyone have a partial hood repaint?

I had my car in today for a hood repaint per our agreement upon purchase. They still have to put on a couple tires in the morning, but I saw the car was sitting outside so I took a look. I was a bit disappointed to find they only redid the underside of the hood. It was only bubbling underneath. I figured they wouldn't do the entire thing from what the salesman said, but I was hoping. Has anyone else had this done, and how has it turned out? I'm a bit worried I'm going to see the bubbling come back since they didn't do the entire hood.

from what I understand that'* where I begins, it'* really no telling what the dealer actually did..... I haven't had trouble yet, I'm thinking my hood may have already been repaired. How'* your latch? has it rusted at all?

The latch was slightly rusting in a couple spots from what I remember. They did repaint the latch and surrounding area as well. From what I can tell by the slight difference in paint from the top, it looks like they did the underside all the way acroos the hood. From what I've read on the subject, inluding on the Aurora board, the seam of the hood seems to be the place where it originates. And I did call the body shop a few weeks ago when I was looking at an Aurora with the same problem, and he said it would depend on how it looks when they start stripping it as to how much needs to be redone. So hopefully it was a minor start, and the rest will be fine.

So you have a paint seam right on the front edge?

Odd. My hood bubbled right up to the front edge. (You could see it, if you looked at it with the hood closed.) Because of that, and the top surface wrapping over the bottom, they did the whole hood.

Comming to think of it, they unfolded that front edge, to resurface under it. I doubt they could do that without repainting the top surface. Did they supposedly get under there for you?

Yeah, it'* barely noticeable, but I can see a slight paint difference just at the front edge of the hood with it up. The bubbling I had was only behind the seam, on the side towards the windshield, there was barely any noticable past the seam toward the front. I'm going to call the body shop directly today and see what they say about it.

They suppose to do whole hood if done right. It usually starts at seam , but I have a nice size bubble away from the seam.

Did they already do the top, or are doing it after the bottom? It wouldn't make sense to do half at a time, unless they didn't have equipment to rotate the panel and hit both sides at once.

If the bubbling was only small and underneath, I wouldn't think they would completely repaint the entire hood. If they said they would and didn't, then I'd be upset. But it sounds like it was able to be fixed without repainting the whole hood. :? Hopefully they didn't charge an arm and a leg.
