Default '94 SE Gear Shifter

i am a complete newb. my shifter is the kind thats in front of the console, but the car is an automatic so i dont know what to call it. but is it possible for me to take it off and put a different one on there?

so its on the center console and not the steering column? and you are asking if you can change the shift ****? yes you can, swap from any year bonneville actually, the shift boots are a little different thru the years.. other ***** such as other pontiacs and aftermarket ones work just as well

To take it off, pull the little clip that is on the lower front side of the ****.
