5% will make the car VERY difficult to see outside at night, especially backing up...

also, you WILL BE GUARANTEED TO BE PULLED OVEN AND TICKETED WITH 5%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

35% is the legal limit in my state as well. I have 20% tint though. Its not bad, I do have some trouble at night when theres not much ambient light.

As far as inspections, I live in a rural area, and the inspections consist of giving the car a once over, and MAYBE jacking it up to look around if theres an indication of a problem. My last inspection consisted of telling the guy my name and who my dad was, then he looked at the car for every bit of 10 minutes, and made sure my signals and brakes worked.

If youre going to go illegal on the tint, either find a place like mine, or maybe try keeping the windows down?

Ive never had any trouble with the cops either, Ive been pulled over 5 times, all of which I had my tint on, and roughly 3 of which were at night. I got asked about it one time, but kinda plead the 5th and he dropped it.

5% is just straight up dark, if I could do it over again I might get 15%, but even now 20% is dark, from far away you cant see in the car at all, and you have to be right on top of it to see much of anything.

Below is an older pic of my car, but its with the 20% tint, and during some really bright sunlight.

I tinted the rear window in my Silverado at 5 percent and the sides at 20 percent. Never ever again will I go that dark. Never considered the odd time I would have to back a trailer at night, and you can only see so much out of an open slider.

35 percent is plenty dark for a driver that needs to be versatile.

If you get pulled over, roll your windows down. Which as far as Im concerned is good practice anyway. But if your windows are down, most likely the topic of tint wont come up, unless the officer happened to notice beforehand.

Its hard to get all of them rolled down in a hurry. But you might start rolling them down as your pulling off the road. Im not saying you will get pulled over. But keeping a cool head and thinking of things like that can help out.

The time I was asked about my tint, both of my front windows were down, and he was commenting on how dark the back ones were, which there is no law on how dark the back ones can be in the state of Missouri, which might be why he didnt force the issue.
