I did not sand mine, so mine bubbled in a few places. I plan on re-doing it later this year.

Just tape off where you don't want the spray paint to go and you'll be set.

Thanks driverjohn2005 for the pics! Looks great! I am thinking about painting mine a charcoal or black (as I also got stuck with the hideous blue interior).

Can I just use my fingers to pry the panel off? I ws trying the other night and it felt like it was gonna crack at one spot but I couldnt find any screw.

works great to put your steering wheel tilt all the way down also, but you probably already figured that out
