Default The Very First Bonneville???

I found this picture which claims that this 1956 Bonneville is one of two ever produced.

Apparently they made a few cosmetic changes before they came out with the production version in 1957.

Actually it is a Pontiac Bonneville Concept car that was built on the Corvette platform. It never made it into production (obviously) but it had the bubble canopy influenced by the jet fighters of the day. If you could see the front hood, you would see the signature chrome straps that the old Pontiacs had on their hoods in the early and mid 1950'*. See if you can find any more pics of this car.

I heard a whole differant story on this car . that it was made by a private owner from a corvette to race at the Bonneville races I could be wrong but thats what Ive heard about a car very similar if not Identical to that exact one.

If you can read it, it says "Bonneville Special" on the fender. I've seen this before. It was a concept by Pontiac intended to race on the salt flats. The is a red one also, I believe.
