Default 1979 bonnie starting trouble

I have the 1979 bonnie with the 301 V8 4BBL carb and the car starts but it seems the car does not want to stay started at all it likes to stall out at stop lights. Any suggestions on how to fix??

For the most part, it sounds like a basic fuel delivery problem. Your idle or mixture is either misadjusted, you have a sticky float, or you have a clogged fuel filter.

Can you give us any more details?

sometimes if you step on the gas the car will either just stall out or not move for a few seconds(from a stop0 then the car will move but not instantaneously

My 1982 Wagoneer did the exact same thing.....Replace the fuel filters, try re adjusting your idel and mixutre screws, and take a look at your air filter if you cant see light through it replace it.
