timing belt or chain
Does 2014 Chev Sonic LT 1.8L have timing belt or chain? I am getting conflicting info on the internet. Chat GPT says chain while other sources say that the 1.8 has a belt..Does anyone know for sure?

Nope.
There were some that supposedly had "sealed for life" transmissions, but in the real world this doesn't go so well.
. . . or . . .
Revised answer: Yes, "sealed for life", just a vastly shorter life when the transmission fails because the fluid goes way bad after unlimited use and no changes.
