Default Supercharger click

I just did a top swap from l36 to l67
i need help determining the issue with my supercharger it makes a click as it turns could be pulley or could be nose guts.
Im not sure i pulled the oil and its dark and thick so probably never changed, also only looks to be about 4.5 oz when i think it should be 7.6 or close to that. Could this be the issue? Or the pully? The noise sounds like either a valve knock or a bad bearing. But if you give it gas the noise goes away but comes right back at idle. Any help?

Im not sure what triple posting means.
a little backround though, i bought the car for 1k because i had a rusted out houston car 04 impala with 3800 series 2, this is my second swap of this kind of engine but the first was a buick park avenue, the guy i bought it from said it developed a knock, so he parked it, after the swap and running the engine i discovered by a hole in the valve cover the wrong alternator bolt had been used and was making contact with a rocker,
after fixing that i still heard a kind of knock but more of a clicking and it has to be from the supercharger when i hold the nose while running i can feel the click, and the old l67 block doesnt have bad piston rotates fine the knock was the screw and rocker issue, so thats bout all i got but it does crank every time and all gaskets and bolts are brand new i purchased a rebuild kit.

It appears that you started three threads for this issue at 16:09, 16:10, and 16:13 (my time zone). Not sure how the system would do this minutes apart. Either way, I fixed it.

Merged these two duplicate threads into this thread since this thread already has responses in it:

It looks like this is for a 2004 Impala so I moved this thread from the "General GM Chat" forum to the "Chevrolet" forum.

Could you confirm the year/make/model and odometer of the donor car?

Could you confirm the year/make/model and odometer of the target car?

By your description, I'd guess you're talking about a lifter making noise. Easy way to figure out if the problem is the supercharger or not is to remove the supercharger belt then start the engine and check for the noise.
