Theres so much clutter in the engine, I don't know if it would help to pull back. Heres another pic. Does this help? If not, I'll go out and take another batch. Its on the my left, passenger side of the engine.

Here are some more pics.

This is why I'm asking, it leads into a tube that has a sticker that seems to read "if you mess with anything coming out of this, you're gonna set something on fire"

The first picture is your EVAP purge valve, the other lines are your fuel lines.

So the line I'm holding is the EVAP purge line?

yep, the reason why it says that is because you could potentially have fuel vapors in there as thats what routes the fuel vapors from the charcoal canister to the purge valve/ TB. its soposed to be connected to the purge valve like i said but it looks like you broke part of it off.

So that would explain the gassy smell in the cabin when I started it up yesterday, and maybe why the gas level gauge went down to an eighth a tank from quarter tank (loosing vapor pressure)?

So is that end piece a part of the valve or the line running from the cannister?

You have a vacuum leak right now. You can get generic vacuum line and you should be able to fix it easy.

possible smell maybe but shouldnt, have anything to with the guage moving were not talking about a whole lot here. old cars used to vent to the atmosphere but thanks to the tree huggers especially in our state we now have over complicated systems to route them into the tb to burn it off at certain times.

the valve is broken if you look at this you can see what its supposed to look like
