Looking for some help on this. The engine is from a mid 80s camaro 350 block that has been bored 30 over. All of this was done by previous ow
Owners not by me. I'm requesting help on timingthe distributor. Model number is 1103381 0A78. I have confirmed this is a gm distributor. Just trying to time it to number 1 tdc. Feel free to email me at joshduresky@gmail.com

You should be at 0 degrees with number one facing just slightly to the driver side of being straight toi the front...Make sense?this should hopefully get you in the general area of where you need to be so you can do your dine tuning till your at 0..Also welcome to the forum Also i moved your thread to the chevrolet section for more visibility

The way I set my distributor on my 350s is unhook the battery. Turn the crank with a socket and ratchet until the line on the harmonic balancer lines up with 0 on the timing marks. Take the distributor cap off and find which way the rotor is pointing. Which ever spot it's pointing at is where the number 1 spark plug wire goes. Then next spot clockwise is 8. Firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2

Well...Thank You all for your help. The El Camino is alive and running well. All that is left is to adjust the rockers. Next up is figuring out what the advance/retard will be for Turbo Blue. Should be interesting. Thanks again.
