Milage display on caviler is doing werid things

Milage display on caviler is doing werid things
On 01 cavalier recently the display started werig thingsbaislicy number will stop displaying one by one. Then once the all disapper they come back and this starts again/. If chnage to trip it comes back and starts again. What gives?
