i recently bought a 2000 malibu with the 3100 v6. ive drove it a few hundred miles now and its been doing great. but last night on the way home i stopped to get gas and see how far i could fill it up (probably stupid idea) well i keep watching for it at the top of the filler neck but it never came, because it started a massive leak on the top of the tank and went away after it dumped enough fuel i guess, it hasent been back from sitting all night, nor has ever happed before. so is this some kind of releif feature ? or a bad seal from where the fuel pump was replaced a few years back ?

Likely a bad seal. I have the same problem on my GTP

i think if you dont have a good seal you should get the evap code
