Driving without disengaging electronic parking brake
I have been in a few cars where the e parking brakes will automatically disengage when you push the gas pedal on drive or just by simply shifting the car to drive. I was wondering if chevrolet/gm cars equipped with e parking brake have a similar system. I have 21 malibu and the epb will disengage when I push the gas pedal but it feels so forced that I’m beginning to wonder if it was designed to be used like that and if it is safe in the long run.
Seeing the wording in here "Avoid rapid acceleration when the EPB is applied, to preserve parking brake lining life" tells me that it is probably not a good idea to do this all the time.
Personally, if I'm not parking on steep hills, I just about never use the parking brake anyway.
Welcome aboard!
