I had the L59 (Flex-Fuel version of LM7) in my 2007 Avalanche. It was a good strong motor and got great gas mileage.

Not sure which one is in my 2000 Silverado (probably the LM7, but I never looked up the code), it'* about the best motor I've found. Supposedly known for piston slap in some of the early versions. I have put this puppy through it'* paces for a bit over 140,000 miles so far. The maintenance list is small, but the UIM/LIM gaskets are due this year.
