So my 1999 Chevy Malibu ls 3.1 v6 will start then stop all the sudden the other day it worked fine I've checked the alternator I've checked mas I've checked fuses I've checked throttle body and tried different battery'* I found a blown fuse on my bcm could that be possibly why it'* starting then stopping

Need to find out why the BCM is blowing it'* fuse.

Any codes stored?

How many miles on it?

How many miles have you owned it?

What region does it live in?

When we had the old bcm in it starts then stops immediately only the check engine light anti theft light and abs light come on and the guages don't really even move only when I start it they all go to max then back down I ordered a new preprogrammed bcm but me and my dad are waiting to find what'* blowing a fuze it has 83500 miles currently I bought it at like 64000 I live in California

I'm not sure the programing can be performed outside the vehicle.

My bcm is coming in like an hour so I'll let you know if that fixed the problem bcm needs to be replaced anyway so I'm hoping I kill two birds with one stone

Please do. I'm curious if the BCM works. I only have the factory info and I'm not up on aftermarket but I do know programmers that can code directly into the chips. They can delete the old info and input the new. I'm thinking that'* what these guys do who sold it to you. Did you give them your vin?
