Default 96 chevy cavalier 2.4 liter engine noise?

hello guys im new and today as i stopped at the traffic light i heart a unusual noise coming from the engine so i get it home and the noise didnt get any worse so thats good i hope but here is a link to the video of the sound its making it doesnt sound like a rod knock its more of a whirrrr-ing noise please help this is my first car and i dont want to get rid of it.

the link should have posted and yes sound changes when you rev it up almost sounds like a transmission pump not getting fluid but the tranny has been replaced and has 25000 miles on it, the sound sounds like its coming from the valve cover? or timing chain case, ive never heard this before so this worrys me

Check your trans fluid level.

fluid level is ok and still a good redish pink color, when i touch the engine i can feel it the strongest over the valve cover and the timing chain case

could it be the power steering pump? the pump is mounted on the valve cover and is driven off of one of the cams
