Bowtie > Pontiac

Wait a minute...I just realized not only is that article from South Africa, but its also dated 2007.

Anyone actually have any proof that this thing will come out in 2011 in the USA? I have a feeling we all got excited for a whole lot of nothing.

Call GM HQ and ask. I'm sure they won't mind.

Technically, yes. The chassis are the same, but the the Statesmen is a long wheelbase version, whereas the G8 is the mid length and the Camaro is the short wheelbase. I believe the suspension components are identical, but there are some subtle differences. It'* just a crying shame that GM can't put 2 and 2 together, and get these things to the public. That platform has so much potential. Just look at what Chrysler did with their rear drive platform. Challenger/Charger/Magnum/300C and all with the SRT8 option. I think that GM is leaving alot of money on the table by not bringing a proper and affordable performance sedan to market. Because let'* face it, CTS-V'* aren't in too many peoples budgets. Just my $.02

I'll just go ahead and get off my soapbox.....

No, I agree with you 100%. They got rid of the Impala SS which left the CTS-V the only performance sedan(Since who really counts the SS Cobalt). Dumb move if you ask me. Bring the Lumina SS over, or release an SS version of the Caprice to the public. Either way it would rock. GM is making some dumb moves these days.

Not a bad looking car, hopefully it sounds as good as the G8'* do. From what i've seen it looks like it will be coming out either this year or next. There are pictures and articles about it all over, so i'm thinking it'* pretty likely they will release it.

Looks like it is most popular in foreign countries as of now. As far as coming out in the US, that'* just my guess. The G8'* were quite popular for the few years they were available, so it would be pretty smart on their part to release a Chevy version of it.
