'01 Impala LS charging issue
Dealing with an '01 Impala having a charging type issue.... the battery keeps going dead, you'll be driving, and sitting at a light and engine will die, you'll be driving down the interstate and the engine will die....it has had 2 new batteries, and 2 alternators....but the battery keeps going dead...... when it cuts off while driving it'* similar to an alternator issue..... and seems to still be putting out at least 13.5-14 volts..... what else can i look at?

If your charging above 13 volts your charging system is working fine. Is the battery light on? Im thinking you have a module staying awake causing a draw. Perform a draw test on the battery with your meter. 25 milliamps is the most you want to see.

Wait, did I read that wrong?
Are you saying, when the engine dies, the battery is still at 13-14 volts?

Working fine today....output of alt. just fine..... could not duplicate problem.... I'm beginning to suspect it may be a bad ground, faulty battery cable or the like I need to check.... it'll just die out of the blue occasionally and not restart without being jumped.... I may have 2 issues, a weak battery, and an internally corroded battery cable....or the like.

A faulty battery cable, or a weak battery will not make the car die while already running, if your alternator is good you can totally disconnect a battery cable while it is running, and it will still run.
I'd not try to do that tough, as you could get a really nasty shock.
I think Justin is right, it is either the crank sensor, ICM, or MAF.

Some of the things I have seen cause a GM vehicle die when running include a bad ignition switch and a failing fuel pump. If you have the voltage and it does not turn over after dieing, a ignition switch (which is separate from the ignition key) may be something to keep in mind.
