Default 2003 Chevy Malibu 3.1L heater core connection question

Hi everyone, sorry if this was already answered but I tried finding before asking and could not locate an answer. As the title says I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu 3.1L and I tore down the engine to the head gaskets and built up from there, I disconnected the 2 hoses coming off of the heater core and made a rookie mistake and did not label them and do not remember which hose goes to which pipe🤦‍♂️ One is a pipe coming off of the thermostat housing and straight back to the heater core, and the other is a bypass pipe coming from the water pump housing across to driver side and then back to heater core as well. If someone can please tell me which hose goes to which pipe it would be immensely appreciated. T.I.A

Default 2003 Chevy Malibu 3.1L heater core connection question

Hi everyone, I tried finding the answer before posting but I could not find anything.
I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu 3.1L and I broke the engine down to the head gaskets and built it up from that, I disconnected the 2 hoses coming off of the heater core and made a rookie mistake by not labeling them and now I am not sure which hose connects to which pipe.
There is a straight pipe coming off of the Thermostat housing straight back to the heater core and the other is coming off of the water pump housing across the front of the motor to the driver side and back to the heater core.
If anyone can help me out it would be immensely appreciated, I have tried searching for it for hours and can not seem to find anyone who has made the same mistake lol

Thermostat is hot so that would go in. I'm not sure direction of flow makes a difference.

A diagram I found shows the top hose goes to the passenger side and the bottom hose goes to the driver side:

. . . and a picture that I found appears to confirm this:

Green and orange added by me.
