I have a 2002 Silverado with the 4.8 Liter engine. My truck has the manual transmission and i'm hearing so many different things about exactly which kind of oem fluid i should use when flushing my transmission. also i know the automatic transmissions have a filter but i don't know if mine has one. could anyone tell me what i need to use for my truck? and if anyone else has a similar pickup?

From page 7-27 of your owner'* manual:

If it is RPO code MW3:GM Goodwrench Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. 12346190 - 1 qt.) or equivalent SAE 75W-85 GL-4 gear oil

If it is RPO code MG5: Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. 12345349 or equivalent)

I looked the code up. the code is an MG5. does my transmission have a filter in the transmission and if so, do you know the part number?

No filter is mentioned. I don't think it has one.
