2002 monte heater shutoff for AC
Neighbors Monte. AC is not blowing cold. Compressor clutch comes on and freon level appears to be ok. Many vehicles I have worked with have the heater hose shutoff valve. I can't see for sure in the engine compartment, it may be hidden, and hard to see much under the dash. And I seem to not be finding a part for this from suppliers. What does this car use to shut off the heat so the AC does not have to fight that? Thanks for any help.
You can have low freon to the point the compressor kicks on, but not enough to do anything.
You can have too much freon, the compressor still kicks on, but it wont' cool.
You can have sufficient freon, but expansion valve is stuck open, or stuck closed.
You can have sufficient or low freon, but the compressor is junk and won't move freon.
All of this can be diagnosed with a set of gauges, but cannot be diagnosed with just 'looking at it'.

Are the electric fans spinning when the compressor clutch engages?
How long does the compressor clutch stay engaged for each cycle?
I don't believe this car has a heater-core coolant valve. Blend doors are used to keep air away from the heater core when warm air is unneeded.
