Default Venture van interior lights stay on

I just bought a 2004 Venture van and the interior lights come on when I open the door but do not shut off when the door closes after 25 seconds as they are supposed to. I have had to leave the overhead console switch set to turn them off. I do not have the dimmer switch on the dash turned to max so its not that. I tried disconnecting the battery but that didn't change anything. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like a door switch is bad.

Thanks I will ck them. I don't think its the BCM because the BCM turns the light off after 10 minutes per the battery save feature

Didn't see your second post....

Yes, I agree with rjblazer.....

You will need a schematic of the BCM......you will have to disconnect the battery(neg first, pos second....reverse on installation......have nothing "on")......then disconnect the harness that has the switches in it, to the BCM.....there are 4(rf and rear share same leg) circuits in the harness to check......then you will have to check for a ground in each leg......the one that is grounded, is the circuit you are looking for......
