My 05 malibu (wifes car) needs the brake fluid changed out. Can this process still be done old school with the help of an assistance (pumping out fluid) or do these cars require some sort of special tool at the brake cylinder or a specific way of doing it.
It can be done old school, but you might consider investing in a pressure bleeder:

Buy the larger containers, preferably DOT 4 at Wal Mart or what is on special at at Auto Parts retailer. By more than you need, and return any opened containers. I think 4 quarts will be plenty.
Don't want to be caught short during the flush.

Otherwise, I could fill them back up with vegetable oil and get my money back. LOL.
Honestly you probably could, but let'* not take advantage of their return policy otherwise when I legitimately need to return something they are going to hassle me because some guy in a red thong returned vegetable oil in a brake fluid container. Plus I'm sure some poor chap would then decide to use it in his car.
