I recently bought a 05 sts that came with a v-6 , it was a Katrina water car.

The body shop bought a 06 sts with the north-star v-8 wrecked and put the complete wiring harness computer etc into my 05 sts even done a full interior swap.

This car has set in a body shop and mechanic shop for 4 years as it would not crank after the swap. the mechanic found that the key fob needed programming and there was no windshield in it so after also plugging up the rear view mirror it cranked, something to do with onstar.

Now the BOSE radio plays fine but has zero base can hear sound out of rear sub-woofer but no base , have checked the fuses under hood as well as both sides in front of back seat in floor.

Also it has no navigation dvd so therefor can not set the time on the radio

and when you crank it the outside rear view mirrors go out and down (i think this is in the personalized settings on the radio)

Also if any of you have a east nav dvd you want to get ride of let me know .

Any suggestions on the radio base ?

05 sts 17k miles 06 North star motor and trans 14k miles bought 6000.00 I thought this was a pretty good deal.

i think i would look at the audio wing for both and see if there are decrepincies between the years for having an amp or not or differences in wiring. the speaker could just be bad. or amp. they arent that great quality in the first place. i wouldnt spend to much effort, aftermarket hu and speakers are way better. and you can run your own new good wires.
