just meant there was no sound when i was turning ac on and off; the sound is inconsistent and infrequent, wasnt able to get any sound to test if it goes away when ac is on

confused about what you mean it is fine,

isn't the pulley'* plate suppose to rotate all the time (ac on and off)?

No the pulley plate, or clutch plate, only moves when the clutch coil is activated....it is activated when there is a demand for A/C.....you don't hear anything, when you turn the A/C on, because the clutch is not engaging....

What could be happening here is, you have a low refrigerant level.......let say you get the car warm...now it'* possible the engine compartment gets warm enough, to heat the refrigerant....this will increase the pressure of the refrigerant, possibly above the low cut off thresh hold, and if you have your defroster on at the time, that clutch could engage and cause the noise...

here'* a video that has the sound

ac pulley wobbled when clutch was not engaged - spotted twice.

when clutch is engaged pulley doesn't wobble - at least when i checked.

clutch plate rotates well but saw a slight hesitation in clockwise rotation.

ac blows cold air.

not sure if i should replace only the pulley, what you guys thinks

seeing acdelcoclutch, acdelco pulley, which adds up more to a whole assembly by 4 seasons, dunno how good that'd go with what i believe is the oem compressor
