Want to Install New Delco Air Shocks
Thread closed.
The types of shocks like the AC delco kit, Or Gabriel hijackers, and possibly any kind of aftermarket shock that isnt the factory design (factory design shocks inflate the opposite direction), most likely require the spring behind the dryer replaced for them to ride well, not wear out, and behave properly.
The kits dont make it clear, or some dont come with the spring, that the factory spring is too soft for these different shocks. 7-14 iirc is the factory pressure unloaded at proper height
The replacements want to see 25 about. The TSB above mentions these things.
By extension, this applies to the Buick Lucerne, if you use these types of shocks. The buick lucerne air ride is the same setup but the compressor is mildly different.
Since the thread was brought back to life for a bit, OldsManiac1990 had some information to contribute to it after I closed it. Since the thread was already closed, I had him start a new thread with the info so I could merge it into this old thread for future reference. His posts can be found at Post #33 and Post #34 above.
Thanks OldsManiac1990 !
