Default suspension clunk and creak (95 regal)

A while ago I was getting a clunking in the front of my car whenever I hit a pothole or uneven ground. So I opened it up and the strut mounts looked fine, but the struts didnt look the healthiest. I changed both strut cartridges but that didnt fix the problem. The sound was a lot quieter, but after 3 weeks its louder than ever. Did I waste 200 bucks on struts? Also another problem, when I turn the wheel in either direction i hear a clicking sound, which appears to be the spring snapping back into position because the bushing is worn out. I bought cheetah grease fron the GM dealer but it doesnt seem to be helping. Any thoughts?

It does sound like the mounts are bad. I wouldn't say you wasted money on the struts..as they probably needed to be replaced.

When a mount goes bad doesnt it break apart? these mounts were still solid. Im going to check the mounts again when I get a chance.

I'm no expert on them. it'* my understanding that the bearings in the mounts get flat spots and start to hang it up on turns etc. That causes the pressure of a turn to make them snap and move quick, making noise.
