Default On the side of the road

I’m in a 2000 Buick lesabre limited and was driving down the interstate and it started sputtering and Bucking and the service engine light came on and flashed constantly. Is there a way to check the code here and now without a scanner???

You are going to need a scanner to retrieve the codes. Flashing consistently means pull over & get assistance, it'* probably misfiring bad.
Check to make sure your battery terminals are clean, no corrosion, & tight. Also inspect spark plug wires and contacts.

I agree with Soft Ride, flashing means misfire. If you keep going you'll melt the core of the catalytic converter.

Also:

How many miles on the car?

How many miles have you owned it?

How many miles on the spark plugs?

Yes, my 1998 Buick LeSabre did the same thing to me; started flashing the check engine light. I immediately turned around and headed for home; I was only about four miles from home at the time. Checked and it was a misfire in one of the coils. To check which coil was misfiring I used an old fashion timing light. Remember that you get two misfires from each coil since they fire two cylinders. Replaced the bad coil and I was good to go.

Forgot to add that I checked both spark wires from the coil; that showed me that both outputs were dead and therefore not a bad plug or wire. I also decided to swap two coils and the misfire moved with the coil.
