Did it come on just once, or every time you start the car? I think your best bet is to take it to the dealer so they can scan the code. There'* just so many things that can cause problems in new cars.

i read a couple of threads and some said it might be a low charged or bad battery, i will take the battery to autozone and have them do a load test on it...... my hud is still showing the service thieft system everytime i start the car, on start up i have 13.9v and it goes up to 15v on 3500 rpm,,,

it could be a bad sensor, buicks are NOTORIOUS for sensors acting up especially the newer ones.

While you are at Autozone, have them scan your car for any diagnostic trouble codes. They don't charge for that service. Report any codes back here.

Maybe it was just "one of those things" that randomly happen. It might have just been some dirt on the key that got in the ignition, maybe something got wet, who knows. If it starts happening again, take it to the dealer, or somewhere that can scan it to see what code is being thrown. One night it was raining, I was driving my parents' 09 Impala, and the service battery light came on.. I shut the car off, started it up again, and everything was fine. The service air bag light came on once, and that turned out to be a loose connection at a plug under one of the seats.

I couldnt tell you the exact sensor but I would just check your wires, plugs, etc and have a scan done next time it comes on.
