Any possible solutions? Here's the damage: Mechanic suggested 2x4's just as a stop gap. Any hope with welding or other suggestions? |
No direct replacement parts are available for this situation. You are looking at custom fabrication to repair this issue. The whole rotted area must be cut out, and something else welded in its place. If it was a simple body sheet panel, a few hours or so without paint. This looks like a full day of labor at shop rate. ....this may not pass inspection in some states. Most people just sell the 'problem'-car to someone else to deal with.

If you ignore it like the previous seller did, you could pawn it off too. You might get less than book value for it.
Why'd you change the supercharger? |

Asymetric had the same issue in: https://www.gmforum.com/buick-172/99...-tower-310213/
I thought this was the same post for a minute. Never heard what he decided to do with his. Different paint color in the pictures so at least we know he didn't sell to you. :) |

So you had a guy suggest shoving wood on top of it to keep it from breaking threw?
Well if some one was out of work down on his luck used it at slow speed around town. Sounds like this guy seen it before or did it? |
Check out a Regal in DFW Texas area rust free you can find for $1000-1800 that run.
