I cut the original plug off which I regret because the wires are confusing. I have the wiring diagram but there are doubles on some wires. 2 blacks, 2 dark blue, 2 orange, supposed to be a yellow but I can't find it. Anyone able to help me wire this right and start my car again? I also don't know what the smaller wiring harness is for.
What we working on? Your car won't start and it was fine before cutting these? What diagram do you have? You may have blown a fuse but I can't think how a radio connector would cause a no start.

The check engine light came on and it wouldn't start earlier. Now it started right up.
The link you gave us goes to a Google search that ends up like this:
I followed the one that looks like it might be the right one, but you will have to confirm as I can't zoom your cell-phone screengrab enough to trace all of the wires. The one I chose was at this link: https://portal-diagnostov.com/en/202...ring-diagrams/
. . . but this is for a 2008. I have no idea what has changed between 2005 and 2008.

The [Check Engine] light should illuminate during every ignition-on cycle. This is part of the diagnostic check that the car does at startup. After the vehicle is started, it should turn off unless it has some reason to stay illuminated. Since your car wasn't starting at the time, is this what you are referring to?

Yes it was just showing the light and doing nothing. After it started the light went off. I went for a drive and it didn't happen again.
I'll send pics of the plug I cut in a bit. I only cut one. The other plug is for steering wheel controls I assume. I'll send a pic of it as well. It'* uncut
