Good to hear, I was just concerned because I bought an SMP ECT recently, and it did not work with the dash gauge, so I had to get an OE AC Delco to get it to work.
Of course that works by measuring resistance, and the OPS would be a simple pressure sensor.
Thanks again for the help!

I do have another question or two, as I have never replaced one.
Do you know what I need to remove it? Just an open end wrench?
And in my 96 PA do you think I can get to it without removing the alternator, tensioner, and power steering pump again?

I found the easiest way is to pull the right wheel and splash guard. The sensor is right there. Getting a wrench in there is a pain, can't remember the size, 24mm or 26mm comes to mind.

Thanks again, the help is greatly appreciated!

Any time.

Had somebody on another forum bring something up that I did not think of.
Is it possible I could have a large oil leak since the sensor is broke off?
I was told I could.

Run the engine and see if it leaks. It's quite possible to break the sender and not have a leak, and it could leak as well. Go have a look, if it leaks get another ride to the parts store.

Roger.

I just ran it till it got up to normal op temps, and then ran it easily while driving it a few miles, then I ran it hard, and so far I see no leaks at all, so I should be good to go to get to the store, after my trip to the store I'll leave it parked till I can either put in a mechanical gauge and sender, or till I can get the more accurate of the non mechanical senders, the AC Delco OE one, I've heard bad things about advance auto's BWD senders, a few people reported the gauge reading half of what it did with the original OE sender.

Thanks for the response rustyroger!

Your lucky. In Bubba (93 Z71) if that oil pressure sender is broke or goes bad the truck will not allow power to the fuel pump.I see it as a saftey measure that way if oil pressure is none you cant spin a rod bearing or do any other damage kind of cool but also a headache when you find that out the hard way.

So that would explain why the car does not want to start most of the time now, I was going to ask if that could cause the car not to start, I see it can.
Thanks for the response.
