if you dont hydro lock it the 3800 seems to outlast the body. like my inlaws 96 had between 2 and 300 before the frame started to rust out to where it was not worth fixing. it had all the normal issues but he never fixed it only changed the oil with the cheapest he could find about every 5k. and keep filling the coolant. now he got a 2000 lesabre, but he couldnt ignore the lim because it was fouling the plugs and causing misfire codes, so we did the whole aluminum upgrade and it should be good for 200k hopefully

Yeah the body rust and the transmission are my only long run concerns. Ive poured a decent amount of time and money into it and its never let me down. Brake lines and fuel lines rusted out so I replaced brake lines and whole new fuel pump because leak was at sending unit, did rear wheel cylinders, replaced multifunction switch, plus Im an aftermarket installer so Ive got another $1000 in toys added on. I have a second car thats in much better shape but Ive probably learned more on the Buick than I did in mechanic school haha
