Default New to Forum, need help with unstoppable blower motor

Hello everyone,
I get to maintain a fleet of six vehicles, half of which are GM,and one of which is a 99 Buick LeSabre to get my kid back and forth to school. The other day when my wife turned it off the blower motor kept running. She finally resorted to disconnecting the battery. I just disconnected the blower motor resistor (Part No 52456326), put everything back together, hooked the battery back up expecting blessed silence, but the blower motor was still on high. There are quite a few posts out there about issues with the blower not shutting off, but I can't figure out how it keeps running with the resistor completely disconnected. Any ideas? I don't have the fancy AC controls, just a four-position fan switch (see below).

Blower doesn't use the resistor on high. It uses a relay to supply battery voltage directly to the blower itself. Find the relay and pull it.

Thanks. That makes sense. The wiring diagram I'm looking at shows a normal blower relay and also a "high blower relay," right next to each other. I assume it'* the high so I'll start with that one.
