Unhappy hot/cold AC

2000 Buick Park Ave, passenger side has cool air from the vents but the driver side has hot air, any ideas?

Does it have dual-zone or single zone AC?

yes it does, it has what is called passenger climate control, it regulates the hot to cold temperature

Sounds like a blend door actuator has gone bad.

Is it hot air or just uncooled air?

Do you hear any quiet clunking going on under the dash?

I am getting warm airflow from the vents now, I started the car and turned on the A/C. I then opened the hood and checked the lines from the accumulator
and the line is warm and there is no condensation on the line which is supposed to be cold to the touch, therefore i need freon, once i get that done i will report back as to what is going on, thank you

I apologize for not getting back to you right away, my wife is dealing with breast cancer and we are seeing a lot of doctors right now, therefore this is what i have so far, i checked to see if the clutch on the compressor was running with the car going and the AC turned on, it stays on it does not cycle off on, thats good, the line that runs from the fire wall is ice cold but all other lines are not, while i was checking the clutch on the compressor i noticed green film covering that end where the lines attach to the back , also i forgot to mention that the acumulator is not cold either, i have attached a picture of the from the fire wall.
in this picture towards the back is the line that comes from the fire wall and comes over the top of the accumulator but you cant see because of the hoses are in the way

one more thing, in the picture where you see the black cap for the schrader valve there is a black compression nut, that is where the cold stops at that point, but traveling backwards it is ice cold

Your observation of the temperature changes are normal because the black compression nut is where the orifice tube is located. More specifically, the high pressure (from the compressor/condenser) enters into the orifice tube, the orifice tube lowers the pressure (which lowers the temperature) then chilled freon travels into the evaporator to absorb heat from the cabin. What'* more important is to feel the 'other line' returning from the evaporator, it should also be cold all the way back to the compressor. If the return line is chilled all the way back to the compressor, the cooling loop is working. If the cooling loop is working, your problem must be somewhere in the passenger side climate controls. If on the other hand, the return line is not chilled all the way back to the compressor, then you should first check the system charge and get this part taken care of before focusing on the passenger side controls.
