Default hey all confusing throttle issue?

hey all. ive noticed this since ive owned my car but just now decided to post about it. it seems like when i first take off occasionally the car feels like it has less power, ill have my foot in the exact same spot and after about 500 feet of driving it just goes vwooomph and i get all my power back to where it should be lol. (damn near whiplash inducing depending on how fast i am trying to go) any ideas? i noticed when i was changing the plugs there was a very faint hint of gas near the rear fuel rail but i dont think its enough for the injector to be not giving enough gas. its almost like my throttle cable is catching/stretching or something. any ideas? it only ever happens in the first 500 feet of driving and usually when the car is cold.

thanks alot!

That almost sounds like the transmission is not engaging in gear right. Can you hear if the RPMs go up but not moving? Check the trans fluid first, it might be low or the filter might be a little plugged up. If that'* all OK, then test the TPS, there'* a write up on that in techinfo/testing.

well the tranny had better be good considering ive got $2k and 2 repairs invested in it lol. there is rpm change but it shifts fine, no slipping or anything. ill check the tps when its less muddy/cold lol

How hard you pressing the pedal? Your car can pwn you if you are constantly tromping on it. Torque management is there for your tranmissions protection from your right foot. Especially at launches.

^This.

Also, you wouldn't happen to have an warm air intake on you car? I've heard guys complain about hesitation from a dead stop and switching back to a factory airbox cure the problem.

no its definitely not me pushing too hard, because i have to drive through my neighborhood littered with 8 million children that think the road is a public park. my car randomly doing this doesn't exactly make me look good with kids infront of me lol. im thinking maybe 20mph is my target speed and while im accelerating to that it does this. as for the intake, the car has a fenderwell stock so i kept the factory box and just took the baffles out.

Are you tapping it while you're going from idle and then all of a sudden a jolt of speed occurs? That happens to me, but it seems something is screwed between the ICM, CKP and Throttle body for me. Meh...
